24th International Congress of History of Science, Technology and Medicine

Organising committees

The organisation of the 24th International Congress is co-ordinated by the British Society for the History of Science (BSHS), in its role as the United Kingdom's adhering body to the Division of History of Science and Technology of the International Union for the History and Philosophy of Science (IUHPS/DHST).

The national committee is responsible for liaison with the international and local organisers, and for overall planning in association with the conference management staff at The University of Manchester.

Programme planning

An International Programme Committee with representatives from across the IUHPS/DHST's membership will affirm the final decisions on programme content. Details of this Committee will be circulated soon.

The programme of the Congress generally includes symposia (thematic collections of papers) organised by each of the specialist Commissions of the IUHPS/DHST. Organisers within each Commission are responsible for developing their own symposium offerings.

Local events organisation

Organisation within Manchester is led by members of the University of Manchester's Centre for the History of Science, Technology and Medicine, in association with colleagues at the University of Salford.

The local committee has a role in programming and general conference planning, and is particularly responsible for on-site displays and special activities.
